Context
Develop the gallery’s presence in Europe and Asia, connecting institutional projects, international art fairs, and relationships with collectors.
Challenge
Build a market for Chinese contemporary art in a region with almost no exposure to it, while the institutional projects ran in parallel and had to reinforce the commercial ones rather than compete with them.
My role
My responsibilities spanned fair strategy and participation, exhibition production, institutional relationships and work with collectors across the primary and secondary markets. I worked at the intersection of the gallery’s artistic programme and its commercial activity, supporting the presentation and placement of works in different contexts.
Outcome
Российская программа дала две выставки Чжан Хуаня за двенадцать месяцев - Эрмитаж и ГУМ-Red-Line - и дебют на Cosmoscow. Галерея прошла путь от полного отсутствия в регионе до музейных проектов и ярмарок.
